Nebraska Cattlemen Foundation Awards Over $59,000 in Scholarships

Academic Scholarships Given to Fifty-Five Students 

LINCOLN, NE (April 30, 2024) – Today, the Nebraska Cattlemen Foundation (NCF) announced they awarded over $59,000 in scholarships to help the next generation of the agriculture industry in their academic pursuits. The scholarships were awarded to fifty-five distinguished students.

Nebraska Cattlemen Announces Matthew Melchor as Director of State Government Affairs

LINCOLN, NE (April 29, 2024) – Nebraska Cattlemen is pleased to announce the hire of Matthew Melchor as director of state government affairs. Originally from Wichita, Kansas, Matthew holds an A.S. in Agriculture from Hutchinson Community College, a B.S. in Agribusiness from Kansas State University, and an M.S. in Agricultural Economics from Kansas State University. Melchor has previously interned in government affairs for Kansas Farm Bureau and BASF Ag Solutions North America. Most recently, Melchor worked as a summer research intern for the United States Department of Agriculture Economic Research Service, focusing on the upcoming Farm Bill. He was also selected as the 2023 Agricultural and Applied Economics Association Anthony M. Grano Fellow in Agricultural Policy. Additionally, he is a 2024 Farm Foundation Agricultural Scholar.

Nebraska Cattlemen Announces Priorities for the Second Half of the 108th Legislative Session

LINCOLN, NE (Jan. 29, 2024) – During their annual Legislative Committee meeting, Nebraska Cattlemen (NC) selected two priority bills, LB1062 and LB1375, adopted two policy statements and took positions on over fifty pieces of legislation for the second half of the 108th Nebraska Unicameral legislative session.
