Nebraska Cattlemen to Host Discussion of Cow Herd Replacement Strategies on Nov. 17th
The Northern Panhandle Affiliate of Nebraska Cattlemen are hosting Aaron Berger, Nebraska Extension Beef Systems Educator, at the Chadron Country Kitchen on November 17th at 6:00pm. Berger had this to say about the discussion he will lead: “Cow herd ownership costs are a significant expense in of cow-calf production. Evaluating replacement and retention strategies for a cow herd can provide insights into what approach may best fit the resources, management, and marketing skills of those involved in the operation. Understanding how these things interact with each other and fit in a production system can provide insight into which strategy may be best for a particular ranch operation.”
Join the Nebraska Cattlemen at 6:00pm on November 17th at the Chadron Country Kitchen. The cost of the meal is $15, payable to Country Kitchen. Registration is required for attendance. Register by emailing Jack Arterburn at jack.arterburn.unl.edu or calling the Dawes County Extension Office at 432-3373.
