Winter Weather Outlook
As we close in on the end of 2019, many producers across the Midwest probably are wishing good riddance to a trying year. The year 2019 brought significant cold to the upper Midwest, followed closely by our February blizzard and subsequent flooding, planting delays from cool and wet conditions, continuous rains for the western corn belt impeding timely forage harvests and finally, a late-maturing crop leading to a delayed fall harvest. The open-ended question after such a trying year is whether we will see a repeat performance of last winter. Read more
