Property Tax Relief Still a Top Effort for NC…
Brenda Masek, NC Vice President, spoke with KBear Country on Tuesday, June 2nd, 2020 updating the listening area on NC legislative tax relief priority, Midyear meeting, CFAP, and invites you to the Sandhills Affiliate Golf Outing.
NC staff continues communication with senators throughout this shutdown on property tax reform. This is a top priority for Nebraska Cattlemen and we will continue to work on this for our membership. “It has all been a wait and see. Nobody can come out and say we’ve got this plan or that plan until they get back into session and see what Speaker Scheer wants to prioritize and what is actually going to get done.” NC staff and leadership is working hard to make sure we get property tax relief before any incentive packages are passed.
Midyear meeting in person has been cancelled but NC is hosting committee meetings via webinars on June 9th and 10th for more information on these meetings you can find that here.
Listen to the HERD it Here podcast for more information on CFAP. One major question that was answered on the podcast is that silage is in fact considered a commodity and should be taken into account when applying for CFAP. Also, they have defined categories of cattle and updated their page at farmers.gov. Please be sure to work in conjunction with your local FSA office to get your application turned in.
Nebraska Cattlemen hosted a webinar on June 2nd on livestock risk management. You can find out more information about that here.
“Sandhills affiliate of Nebraska Cattlemen is having their annual golf day at the Dismal club on June 15th. Call the Lincoln office at 402.475.2333 for more information. This is a super time to get together with producers and meet new friends. We encourage you to come out for golf and supper.” More information about this event can be found here.
