Advantages to the Beef Ambassador Contest
Bonita Lederer, Director of Producer Education speaks with Rural Radio Network on the upcoming NCW Beef Ambassador Contest
The Beef Ambassador Contest is a public speaking contest including a writing assignment that gives our youth a chance to share their knowledge of the beef industry. We have two age divisions senior and collegiate ranging from ages 14 – 23. “We want them to share with us their knowledge of the beef industry and how they have been apart of it. Sharing knowledge through a media interview and issues response.”
Contest rules and registration can be found here: https://nebraskacattlemen.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/2020-ba-rules-registration-1.pdf
Deadline for registration is June 10th. Due to COVID19 this year’s contest will be via zoom and email and begin on Monday June 15th at 1:00pm cdt. The issues response portion will be emailed to our contestants and the deadline for return will be Wednesday, June 17th. Winners will be announced on Friday, June 19th.
What is the biggest advantage to having Beef Ambassadors in Nebraska? “They get the opportunity to come to some Nebraska Cattlemen events including the Tailgate, Birthing Pavilion at the State Fair and we also encourage them to do activities in their school and community, sharing their love of beef and what they do every day on the farm and ranch.”
