Governor Ricketts Proclaims National Agriculture Week in Nebraska

 In Newsroom, Uncategorized

Today, on behalf of current Nebraska Cattlemen President Brenda Masek, Past President Ken Herz joined Governor Ricketts during a press briefing at the State Capitol to proclaim March 20-26, 2022, National Agriculture Week in Nebraska.

“Agriculture is the heart and soul of Nebraska. This week we celebrate the farmers and ranchers who are the economic engine of our state. Thank you for what you do to put food on Nebraskans’ tables,” stated Governor Pete Ricketts.

Nebraska is the BEEF state! This week we are celebrating the number one industry in Nebraska – agriculture. The beef cattle sector represents the largest portion of agriculture in Nebraska. It is the engine that powers the state’s economy with over $6.5 billion in cattle sales each year. In short, the beef cattle industry has an unmistakable impact on all Nebraskans.

“Cattlemen and women take great pride in the way they care for their animals daily. We celebrate them today and every day for providing Nebraska families with the safest, highest-quality beef possible while being stewards of the land and water they utilize,” stated Past President Ken Herz.

Thank you, Governor Ricketts, for your continued dedication to Nebraska’s beef cattle industry. Remember—enjoy some beef today—and every day!
